Story
Lauren Genter is a midwife in Athens Ohio. She helps many different people throughout their pregnancy. Midwives help guide women through pregnancies, and when they are healthy help to give birth to the child, either at home or the hospital, this is normally a much more comfortable approach. Her job is much more than just helping during labor. Lauren has many appointments with clients for checkups, checking in on the baby and mother, and researching new things in birth. Lauren loves her job and promoting midwifery and comforting pregnancies.

Lauren Genter, an Athens County midwife and owner of Ohio Hills Midwifery, explains the at-home birth procedure to her clients Cassi and Chad Yost, soon-to-be parents. The list includes explanations, contacts, and things to do and get before the at-home birth.
This is an example of a prenatal appointment for clients. These are done in Lauren’s office and include talking about testing options and birth ideas and checking where the baby is in the belly and its heartbeat. The most important thing to Lauren about these appointments is that the clients make most, if not all, of the decisions about the process. Feb. 22, 2022

Lauren Genter, an Athens County midwife and owner of Ohio Hills Midwifery, feels Cassi Yost’s stomach to make sure she knows where the baby is. Cassi Yost is expecting her first born child in less than 2 months and choose the option of midwifery, because of the comfortable and enlightening experience.

Lauren Genter is an expert in “normal birth”. She has trained for over 15 years, and helps a mother give birth on average 24 times a year. To become a certified midwife you have to go through rigorous training, one of them being help give 80 births, but not any births, very specific ones. This mean’t that over a few years Lauren had to help give roughly 150 births to get her certificate. Feb. 23 2022.
Lauren was inspired to do midwifery when she stumbled upon a book about it in a library at the age of 19. After that her adventure began of learning everything about birth. She truly feel in love with the idea of midwifery after she gave birth to her son and got the care that a midwife gives. She recommends that everyone who has a healthy pregnancy have a midwife for the true comfortable care.

On November 31, 2022 The Yost's gave birth to their daughter.

After 12-hours Cassi Yost chose to have birth at the hospital in order to make sure her baby had a smooth,healthy delivery.
